Roger Waters Coming to the Pepsi Center

If you are a rock music fan, then you obviously have at least an appreciation for Pink Floyd. They were legends in rock music and paved the way for many other artists - even artists of other genres - of today. Roger Waters was the brainchild behind Pink Floyd. He wrote the majority of their music for their highly popular albums like "The Wall". And now he's back on a solo tour - and coming to the Pepsi Center next Monday! He's an awesome performer - this tour has gotten great reviews from critics and is sure to impress when it comes to Denver. If you missed his tour last year, he toured with his own rendition of "The Wall", complete with a HUGE moving stage. Check it out below, and get some Roger Waters tickets so you can check out his show next week too!

Gabriel Iglesias Tickets

So there's not a ton going on on the music scene this week - but there IS something pretty awesome that kind of falls in the same category. Funny man Gabriel Iglesias is hosting THREE stand up comedy events at the Paramount Theater this week - and I can't WAIT to go check him out. He calls himself the "Fluffy Guy" - and he is hilarious. From his stories to his jokes to his side effects and voices, I just can't get enough. He's hil.ar.i.ous. Don't believe me? Check out the video below. You won't be able to get enough - good thing he's got those three shows this week in Colorado. There's gotta be one that fits your schedule! He's performing on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Go get your Gabriel Iglesias tickets and laugh your booty off this weekend!

Tom Petty tickets for a double header this week

Have you heard the news concert fans? Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are taking the stage at the 1stBank Center this Wednesday AND Thursday. It's a double header show - and while I'm only going to ONE of the shows, I'm sure there are many people hitting up both shows. He's just that good. Not sure that you're up for a concert mid-week? Well, if you're a fan of songs like "I Won't Back Down", "American Girl" and "Free Fallin", then you definitely shouldn't even be QUESTIONING why you need to be at this show. Or one of these shows - sorry. And if you're just sitting on the fence about checking out your own Tom Petty Tickets, then let me show you some awesome clips of his music to do a little convincing...

The Black Keys Tickets

Did you know that the Black Keys are coming to town later this month? They'll be at the 1stBank Center for two back to back shows on April 30th and May 1st. Which means: You need to get some 1stBank Center tickets for one of these two shows on the Black Keys schedule! Not sure who the Black Keys are or why you'd love to see them in concert? Let me tell you. The Black Keys are a rock band from Akron, Ohio and is made up of two members: Dan Auerbach on guitar and vocals and patrick Carney on drums. They have a ton of awesome songs that you've probably heard but never knew who sang, like "Tighten Up", "Strange Times" and "I Got Mine". Need a refresher? Video help is below. And after watching, you know you're gonna have to get your hands on some Black Keys tickets, too! I am going to the Tuesday show, and I.Can't.Wait. See you there!

Summer Colorado Concerts: Eric Church

There's a lot of things that I love about summertime in Colorado: the sunshine, going to the beach, hanging out by the pool...there's always something going on. But one of the BEST things about summertime in Colorado is the concerts. And one step up from just summer concerts is summer RED ROCKS concerts. One of my faves that I have seats for this summer? Eric Church. Lovelovelove him. My personal favorite songs that I can't wait to hear live and in person:

  • Hell on the Heart
  • Homeboy
  • Drink in my Hand
This - like most Red Rocks concerts - are not ones to miss. And this girl, for one, can't wait to start the summer Colorado concerts off with a little May concert and Eric Church tickets!

Colorado Concert Insider: I Love the Ting Tings

Finally: Spring in Colorado. Which means it's almost summertime in Colorado. Which means it's time for lots and lots of fabulous concerts to start populating each and every week on the Colorado concerts calendar. Now this week, we have something MUCHO exciting to kick off this new season in both weather and music. The Ting Tings take the stage Saturday night at the Ogden. Obvi I am going because I LOVELOVELOVE The Ting Tings. But also this weekend is a musical dance event called the Caffiene Music Festival at the 1stBank Center. it's supposed to be super amazing. They're running fifty artists on five stages - I'd say it's gonna be an event to rememebr. If I wasn't already going to see the Ting Tings, there's no way I'd miss out. Ahhh so happy that there are FINALLY some amazing music events going on around Denver!

Venue Time: The Ogden Theater

The Ogden Theater is another one of my favorite local hot spots for small concerts. It's probably the perfect location for an intimate show. Tons of great bands get booked there. And it's got a lot of history, which you should appreciate as a Coloradan. It's a little bit loud and the air circulation isn't alwasy as great on the floor as the balcony - which is why I generally opt for seats that are a little higher up. Another bonus of the upstairs: you have a little shelf to rest your purse. Or coat, Or whatever your little heart desires. Love it.

One Full Weekend of Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson.

I don't know about you, but THIS concert fan is a huge country music fan. And I know that Kelly Clarkson doesn't just sing country, but she does sing a little. So this is making me uber excited for this weekend. Why, you ask? Well, because two of my favorite singers are going to be in town: Miranda Lambert AND Kelly Clarkson! They're both playing the 1stBank Center on Saturday and Sunday respectively, and I can't wait for either show. Saturday night I'm hitting up Miranda Lambert with my man (he loves her too) and on Sunday I'm going to the Kelly Clarkson show with a couple of my old college roomies - can't wait to FINALLY get our concert on, it's been a long few weeks with no good music in town!

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tickets

I feel like a total dork saying this - only because this is a band from my dad's era - but my boyfriend got me Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tickets and I am SO PUMPED! I think that Tom Petty is classic - whether you're 5 or 50, you can really groove to his music. I mean, I remember jamming to "American Girl" back when I was getting ready for high school in the morning. I seriously can't wait you guys! They'll be at the 1stBank Center for two shows - April 18th and April 19th (a Wednesday and Thursday), and it's going to be the perfect first post-winter concert of the year. So awesome!

Venue Time: The Denver Paramount

I love the Denver Paramount Theater for concerts. Why, you ask? Let me count the ways. I love the vintage, glamorous art-deco feel. The red seats, gold walls and chandaliers make you feel like you're sitting in vintage Hollywood. I always dress up just a little more when I'm catching a show here -  you know, some extra glam to pay homage to the Paramount's roots. It was built in the early 1900s and designed by Temple Buell, and was the premiere social hot spot of it's era. Generally parking comes with your ticket, which is a super bonus. Basically, it's a classy venue to catch a speaker or a great concert. You'll always have crisp sound and feel like you're thrown back to a different era.

Lady Antebellum Makes Me Swoon.

Geez guys, what's up with all of these triple-date-shows? Last week we had Widespread Panic playing three nights in a row, this week it's Phil Lesh. A little overboard, no, guys? Anyway, if you're not into the whole triple Phil Lesh shows this week, then you should DEFINITELY go check out the Lady Antebellum show this Wednesday at the Pepsi Center. Whether you're a country fan or a pop fan (or even an adult alternative fan...), you'll have a blast at this show. I saw them a couple of years ago with Martina McBride and they are awesome. Plus they have so many crossover songs that I just can't get out of my head. Lovelovelove them. And you should too!

Places I Love To See A Show: The Ogden Theatre

There's not a whole lot of concerty things going on around town this week (unless you're up for two whole nights of Widespread Panic at the Fillmore, while I'm not...), so I thought I'd feature one of my favorite venues for concerts around town, the Ogden Theater. Why I like this place:

1. It's charming and it's got character because it was built forever ago.
2. It's an intimate venue but you don't feel like you're standing next to a speaker the entire time you're there.
3. Drinks are decent priced, which is great when you're already  paying for a ticket to get in the door.
4. They get GREAT acts - from local bands to hot touring bands.

The only things that can be (kind of) irritating about seeing a show here:

1. Parking sucks.
2. It can get unbelievably hot in there. But just wear a tank top to compensate, then you don't notice!

Friday Night Score: Ryan Adams Tickets

This girl is muy excited. I just scored a pair of Ryan Adams tickets to his concert this Friday at The Buell Theater! I lovelovelove this guy. He's originally from Jacksonville, has recorded solo albums and collaboration albums with The Cardinals, The Counting Crows, Weezer, Norah Jones, Minnie Driver and tons of other acts. He's married to Mandy Moore - lucky girl - and released an album recently - Ashs and Fire - last October. I can't WAIT to see this show!

The Jayhawks Are Coming! The Jayhawks Are Coming!

That's right folks, The Jayhawks are taking the Ogden Theater by storm on FRIDAY NIGHT! This Minneapolis based group was created in the mid-80s and play alternative country and rock music. Their most recent album, "Mockingbird Time", is sure to be the centerpoint of this show. I AM SO PUMPED. I love that they mostly play at small venues when they're not playing at festivals (personally, festivals are not my thing). This show is GA - so get there early with your Jayhawks tickets to get the best spot! And just for ya'll: a little Jayhawks love below:

This Week on the SCENE: Big Gigantic and Brad Paisley

Playing FOUR shows this week, local group Big Gigantic will be playing Wednesday in Aspen, Thurdsay in Ft. Collins, Friday in Boulder and Saturday in Denver. WHEW! What a list. I've never been to see them before, but judging by their performance on NYE in Chicago, they have a pretty unique sound (that incorporates a lot of saxophone and techno beats) and a sweet light show. Don't believe me? Check them out below:

As a country fan, I have to say I'm SUPER excited for this Saturday night when Brad Paisley takes the stage at the Pepsi Center. I personally can't wait to hear TICKS played live. But you know, that's just me.
