Venue Time: The Denver Paramount

I love the Denver Paramount Theater for concerts. Why, you ask? Let me count the ways. I love the vintage, glamorous art-deco feel. The red seats, gold walls and chandaliers make you feel like you're sitting in vintage Hollywood. I always dress up just a little more when I'm catching a show here -  you know, some extra glam to pay homage to the Paramount's roots. It was built in the early 1900s and designed by Temple Buell, and was the premiere social hot spot of it's era. Generally parking comes with your ticket, which is a super bonus. Basically, it's a classy venue to catch a speaker or a great concert. You'll always have crisp sound and feel like you're thrown back to a different era.

Lady Antebellum Makes Me Swoon.

Geez guys, what's up with all of these triple-date-shows? Last week we had Widespread Panic playing three nights in a row, this week it's Phil Lesh. A little overboard, no, guys? Anyway, if you're not into the whole triple Phil Lesh shows this week, then you should DEFINITELY go check out the Lady Antebellum show this Wednesday at the Pepsi Center. Whether you're a country fan or a pop fan (or even an adult alternative fan...), you'll have a blast at this show. I saw them a couple of years ago with Martina McBride and they are awesome. Plus they have so many crossover songs that I just can't get out of my head. Lovelovelove them. And you should too!

Places I Love To See A Show: The Ogden Theatre

There's not a whole lot of concerty things going on around town this week (unless you're up for two whole nights of Widespread Panic at the Fillmore, while I'm not...), so I thought I'd feature one of my favorite venues for concerts around town, the Ogden Theater. Why I like this place:

1. It's charming and it's got character because it was built forever ago.
2. It's an intimate venue but you don't feel like you're standing next to a speaker the entire time you're there.
3. Drinks are decent priced, which is great when you're already  paying for a ticket to get in the door.
4. They get GREAT acts - from local bands to hot touring bands.

The only things that can be (kind of) irritating about seeing a show here:

1. Parking sucks.
2. It can get unbelievably hot in there. But just wear a tank top to compensate, then you don't notice!
